Summerside Eagle Updates, 9/18/26

Dear Summerside Families, 

We always have a lot to celebrate at Summerside and this week certainly offered FOUR shining stars in recognition of the hard work our staff, students, and families put into ensuring our students learn and grow each year!  See the Ohio State Report Card below, which shows a lot to celebrate and guides us in continuing to support standard mastery for all of our students! We encourage you to click into the report card to explore each component. 

We have extended the deadline to September 25th for the Stay in the Game pledge.  

Parent-teacher conferences are right around the corner. Our goal is to meet with every parent in some way, in person, on the phone, or virtually during our fall conference times. Look for a Parent Square notification on Monday, September 21 at 9:00 from your child's homeroom teacher to sign up for a conference on either Thursday, October 1, or Thursday, October 15, from 5:00 - 8:30 p.m. We encourage all of our Summerside families to connect with your child's teacher in the fall to continue to build our partnership with you to ensure your child is learning, leading, and succeeding this year!

Every school day matters. Consistent, on-time attendance gives students the best opportunity to learn, build strong relationships, participate in school activities, and receive the support they need to succeed. Even a few missed days can add up and create learning gaps over time. Regular attendance also helps students develop important habits such as responsibility, time management, and commitment—skills that support success both in school and in the future.

LOVEWC Week 2027 will be here before we know it, and we’re getting the celebration started early!

LOVEWC Shout Outs are officially open! We’re opening submissions early this year to give everyone plenty of time to recognize a West Clermont staff member who makes a difference.

Is there a teacher, bus driver, custodian, food service team member, administrator, support staff member, coach, or other West Clermont employee you appreciate? Send them a LOVEWC Shout Out!

All Shout Outs will be printed and delivered to staff members at their schools during LOVEWC Week- February 16-19, 2027 as a special reminder of the impact they make each day.

School pictures are ready!

Your child’s school pictures are now available! To view them online, please log in to your account at mylifetouch.com. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one using your email address. After learning about various animals, their environments and adaptations, students created their own animal and wrote about adaptations that animal might need.

We are excited to kick off our annual Summerstride Walk-a-Thon fundraiser, running Tuesday, September 8–25! Your child will be coming home with a packet and an envelope with their name and homeroom printed on it on Tuesday, September 8.
