Summerside Eagle Updates, 9/25/26

Dear Summerside Families, 

We had a focused and fun week together as we celebrated our first spirit week with an attendance theme of "Stay in the GAME!"  See below for a few pictures and the honor of the district weekly attendance trophy. 

Parent-teacher conferences are right around the corner, with our first conference night this Thursday, October 1, and the second on October 15th. Our goal is to meet with every parent in some way, in person, on the phone, or virtually during our fall conference times. Your child's homeroom teacher sent their conference schedule to sign up for a date and time that works for you. We encourage all of our Summerside families to connect with your child's teacher in the fall to continue to build our partnership with you to ensure your child is learning, leading, and succeeding this year!

ALL SUMMERSIDE EAGLE FAMILIES are invited to walk in this year's WCHS Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 2, 2026.  We will meet in the parking lot of Mt. Carmel Christian Church beginning at 4:30 with the parade starting at 5:00. Please park in the WCHS parking lot and use the crosswalk at the Bach Buxton and Red Sunrise intersection. Look for the Summerside PTO and banner, and be sure to wear your Summerside colors!!   The route is fairly short and easily navigated by strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs and we will have candy to toss out to the crowd!

There are a lot of festivities and fun after the parade at the WCHS football field.  We hope you can join us for this fun, free event!!!

Bonus: Look for more information on the PTO Facebook page about a dine-to-donate event at Chuck E. Cheese on Friday, 10/2!!

On Tuesday, September 29, a representative from the Boy Scouts of America will be coming in at lunchtime to encourage students to join the Boy Scouts this school year. If you do not want your child to participate in this 10-minute presentation, please email Lisa Courtney at courtney_l@my.westcler.org by 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, and we will find an alternate location for them to eat lunch that day.  

The Boy Scout representative will also be hosting a recruiting meeting at Summerside on Wednesday, September 30, at 6:00 in the cafeteria for anyone interested.

Our mission is to commit to excellence, with every learner, every day, in every way. One way that we can do that is to help provide for your child if there is a need for food at home over the weekend. Thanks to the generosity of local organizations who work to serve our Summerside students, we are able to continue our Weekend Food Bag Program as an option for our students in need for the 2026 - 27 school year. If you are interested in your child receiving a food bag at the end of each week, please complete the linked form below.
